LINKING LESSON PLANNING AND ANALYSIS

Learning from classroom experiences

This project is being carried out by Christina Schofield (Psychology Department, UCLA)

Project Summary

This project investigates the links between lesson planning and teachers' analysis of classroom events. Novice teachers will be presented with a lesson plan and will watch a video of a teacher executing that plan. They will then analyze the video and suggest modifications to the lesson. Lesson plans will be drawn from different lesson planning frameworks, and the extent to which these frameworks affect teachers' classroom observations and teachers' ability to improve upon a lesson will be assessed.
