JAIME
PARK, Ph.D. (candidate)
Graduate student currently working on the
ALFA
and the TeKno project. She is also working on her dissertation in a
Ph.D. program in the School of Education at UCLA. Her dissertation
topic involves using video and technology to support secondary
mathematics pre-service teachers develop equitable classroom practices
in low-performing urban schools. She is particularly interested in how
classroom discourse, norms, and building relationships with students
can help teachers support students to engage in mathematical
justifications. She is
also a Diversity in Mathematics Education Center for Learning and
Teaching fellow. She received a B.S. in Mathematics and Masters in
Education (M.Ed.) from UCLA. She also taught high school mathematics
before entering graduate school.
